My Grandmother had a simple yet elegant purse, she used to call it Batwa/ Potli (something similar to a drawstring pouch). Whenever she stepped out of the house she would carry it along. Clad in a Nine yard cotton Saree she would carry the house keys and a few other small things in her Batwa. Most of the time this Batwa or Potli used to be made of small pieces of old Saree borders or left over dress material or unused old garment. The multicolored Batwa displayed here is inspired by my Grandma's Batwa. It can be carried along with a Salwar Kameez, a Saree or even with a Short Kurta clubbed with Jeans. These colors look great with any bright coloured Kurta or a kurta that sports any of the colours that the fabric of the Batwa flaunts prominently. It goes well with Plain black or plain white or an of-white khadi Kurta. If you sport Kolhapuri flats and Oxidised Gold Tone earrings along with these, it would make it look even more chic.
